Basrah Streets
The Iraqi Army has been caught off guard, with only hasty defenses set up around a downed Blackhawk helicopter. In a bold effort to suprise the Iraqi forces, a lightly equipped US Army taskforce is preparing to capture two important entrances to the city and then move inward and capture the vital intersection allowing heavier forces to move in and stabilize the situation.

Battle of 73rd Easting
On the 26th February 1991, the US Army’s 2nd Armored Cavalry Regiment (2nd ACR) raced east into Iraqi from Saudi Arabia as part of Operation Desert Sabre. Their goals were to cut off the Iraqi retreat from Kuwait and to destroy five Iraqi divisions near the Iraqi-Kuwait border. By 16:22, the 2nd ACR’s Eagle Troop reached 70 Easting knocking out eight Iraqi T-72s. Ahead, they could see the Iraqi Brigade Assembly Area containing heavy armour, support vehicles and armoured Infantry Fighting Vehicles (IFVs). Rather than wait for heavier units to catch up and risk losing the element of surprise, the 2nd ACR raced onwards and approached 73 Easting where the battle raged.

EJOD Desert
The fighting draws near to the sand-swept city of Qasr in the Ejod Desert. The city had been totally evacuted several months ago due to the threat of bombings when Iraqi forces temporarily used the city as a staging ground. Now Qasr comes to life again when it finds itself directly between a resurging Iraqi army and the battle hardened 5th US Armor Division.

NW Neighborhood
With Operation Desert Storm initiated US forces continue push through Iraq. A small US task force has setup base near a small town. Without a name the area has been called Northwest Neighborhood. Once the troops began to patrol the streets they had found themselves ambushed at all sides. Both teams are supplied with light and medium weaponry. The US forces must take control of the city and push the Iraqi forces back to the factory.

Operation Hogsmoke
As the US Armored divisions push north into Iraq they have encountered a stiff line of resistance. Between their bases and the Iraqi battle line there is an immense desert which their tanks must cross in the face of enemy tactical bombers and entrenched Iraqi T72’s. Fortunatly the US also have a full complement of airpower to help neutralize the defending Iraqi’s defensive advantage.

Operation Market Square
After the loss of a UH-60 from heavy Iraqi fire, US forces have called off air support until the town is under control. The only support US have from the sky is high altitude air drops. Both forces are now locked in bitter urban warfare as they both try to reach the crash site first.

Road of Destruction
With the war over halfway over, American forces notice a massive presence of Iraqis fleeing northward. In an attempt to secure the vital lifeline, Iraqi troops push forward at the same time as Americans trying to cut off the bulk of Saddam’s retreating forces.

Umm Qasr Docks
During the early hours of the war forces from both the Iraqi and US armies are pouring into this important dock. The Iraqi Army must secure the docks to launch attacks on US naval ships in the area, and the US Army wants to secure a landing zone for masses of naval based troops. Both sides are attacking with heavily mechanized infantry divisions, because the area is far too cluttered for jets or heavy tanks.

Road to Jalalabad
The American war machine has thundered over to the eastern border of Iraq in its continued battle against the Iraqis. Jalalabad dominates the entrances to the Laghman and Kunar valleys, and is the first stop for men and supplies streaming across the Pakistani border into Iraq. It’s a crucial training and logistical outpost of the Iraqi forces, who are holed up in the heart of the city awaiting an impending US onslaught with bated breath. This city is a strategic capture point and must be taken at any cost!

Strike at Karkand
Control of the industrial facility and harbor at Karkand motivate this assault by US forces, where they find Iraqi forces marshalling to defend the industrial city and determined to meet this attack with stiff resistance. The terrain surrounding Karkand sufficiently opens to allow for sweeping fields of fire but the open ground increases the danger posed by anti-vehicle missiles and sniping. It is thus vital for both sides to secure firebases in Karkand’s sheltered city center.

Highway Tampa
As the most direct path for supplies and re-enforcements for both sides this expanse of the Arabian Peninsula has been dubbed Highway Tampa by the US forces. In order to ensure safe passage of critical new Intel technologies through the supply route the U.S. forces must hold off the encroaching Iraqi mobile divisions.
